The Science Behind TRIMA
A Scientifically Grounded Psychometric Framework for Advancing Human Development
For more than 30 years, the TRIMA model has integrated established findings from behavioral science to support both individual and organizational development.
Rooted in empirical research across neuropsychology, Jungian analytical psychology, and contemporary personality theories (including the Big Five), TRIMA provides a multidimensional framework for understanding human behavior, motivation, and influence.
Rather than categorizing individuals, TRIMA offers a dynamic, integrative interpretation of behavioral preferences, competencies, and leadership orientations — enabling evidence-informed insights into human potential, adaptive functioning, and developmental trajectories.
The model draws on foundational contributions from Jung, MacLean, and Costa & McCrae.

A Comprehensive Psychometric Validation
The TRIMA tools have been validated according to established scientific standards.
Content Validity
Confirmed by an expert panel ensuring the relevance, clarity, and representativeness of questionnaire items.
Theoretical and Construct Validity
Supported by significant correlations with recognized reference instruments (e.g., MBTI, Gordon’s Personality Profile), demonstrating alignment with established psychological frameworks.
Test–Retest Reliability and Internal Consistency
Evidence of strong temporal stability and scale homogeneity, with high internal consistency coefficients (Cronbach’s α).
Robust Theoretical Foundations

Jungian Typology and MBTI
Scales derived from the work of Carl Jung (1921) have informed the understanding of natural preferences observed in TRIMA’s Social Styles. The Myers-Briggs Company -
Triune Brain Theory (MacLean, Sperry, Laborit)
The five TRIMA dimensions — Tradition, Reflection, Imagination, Mediation, and Action — reflect the complementarity of the reptilian, limbic, and neocortical brain systems described by Paul MacLean (1990) and Roger Sperry (1982). Science.org -
Big Five Model (Goldberg, Costa & McCrae)
Empirical links between universal personality traits and the five TRIMA dimensions have been supported through correspondence analyses and convergent validation studies. ResearchGate
At TRIMA, science is not an end in itself — it illuminates the richness and complexity of human development.
An integrated model with three structures
These three dimensions are interconnected: together, they help me better understand who I am, what I’m capable of, and how I make an impact.
Social Styles
Identify natural preferences, values, and communication styles that shape interpersonal interactions and relational dynamics.
Behavioral skills
Assess the practical knowledge based on 120 skills and 1,200 observable actions, depending on the level of interest and mastery.
Desired leadership styles
Specify the type of influence and impact the person wants to have to support transitions and inspire confidence.
A distinctive measurement method: ipsativity
TRIMA questionnaires are based on an ipsative approach, where each response is compared to the individual’s own profile rather than to an external norm.
This method highlights each person’s internal preferences and equilibrium — fostering authentic self-understanding and personalized development, instead of normative comparison.
